We're excited to be one of the programs involved with the CARE/New School collaboration. In Summer 2008, a selected group of students and faculty will travel to Guatemala to gain hands-on experience, working with a cooperative of Mayan women in developing the skills necessary for creating a sustainable business enterprise. A requirement for the Summer trip is to enroll in the Spring course “New School / Liderezas Mayas Practicum," taught by several IDC faculty as well as other Parsons and New School faculty. Today is the deadline to apply for the course, and a selection of students traveling will be made based on grades, language, design & business skills. Stay tuned for how this project evolves!
